On Wednesday, January 4, 2023, Dr. Nadhim S. Abdulaziz, President of the University of Zakho, formally received in audience the esteemed Mr. Faris Issa, Chief Representative of Kurdistan Government in Baghdad. Noteworthy, the president of the university was accompanied by Dr. Diyar A. Said, Vice President for Administration and Financial Affairs, Dr. Karwan F. Sami, Vice President for Students Affairs, Dr. Dilsher A. Mohammed, Director of Dormitories, and Dr. Nizar I. Ali, Director of Directorate of International Relations Affairs.

Throughout the visit, numerous matters were discussed including the challenges that Iraqi postgraduate students face when they apply for studies abroad, the Turkish universities specifically, in addition to the issue in which the majority of students complain about the University of Zakho not being accredited by certain universities in Turkey. Thus, the Chief Representative ensured to provide facilities for them to complete their studies outside the country.
